On Wednesday, Volvo unveiled its first fully electric car – Polestar 2 under its sub-brand Polestar. This fully-electric sub brand was launched by Volvo in 2017. It will be its first volume vehicle. By this launch, volvo is aiming to broaden the choices for users interested in EV segment. Currently, the segment is fully dominated by Tesla Model 3. Lets check out more details about Polestar 2.
The design of the vehicle is quite sleek and minimalistic in the first look. With some unique features and sharp edges, the car definitely looks quite competitive to Tesla model 3. Polestar 2 also has a “volvo s60 type” tail lamps.
First of all, Polestar 2 will be available by 2020. This car’s engine will produce 400 horsepower. It will reach from zero to 100 kmh speed in 5 seconds. The car will be manufactured in China. The infotainment system in the car will be based on google’s android OS. It is expected that it will use google maps and google assistant to navigate etc.
Price of Polestar 2
The price of the car is quite competitive with Tesla Model 3. The brand new vehicle will be starting at $45,400, as said by Company. Apart from this, a launch edition will also be available. The price of this edition will be around $68,200.
